SUMMARY:Office of Digital Equity Staff Development and 2024 Planning
DESCRIPTION:Thank you to every County leader\, department\, employee\, resident\, business owner\, every non-County stakeholder\, partner and sponsor\, every news outlet that has featured our efforts\, the Georgia Chapter of GMIS International for the Government to Citizens (G2C) award\, GMIS International for the G2C award\, the Georgia Technology Authority\, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA)\, and the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) for your support and making our year of digital equity efforts in 2023 a successful one. \nOur office is tasked with addressing 3 “digital divides” in Clayton County: (1) access to affordable and reliable high-speed internet\, (2) access to digital skills and (3) access to digital devices. \nWe are proud to have accomplished the following in 2023: \n\nAssisted 40 Clayton County residents with applying and qualifying for the Affordable Connectivity Program\, or ACP\, a federal subsidy of $30/month to be used toward the cost of home internet service.\nFacilitated 66 FREE digital skills trainings\, and trained 385 Clayton County residents on topics including: Microsoft Excel\, Microsoft Excel II\, Microsoft Word\, Navigating LinkedIn\, Navigating Your iPhone/iPad\, Navigating Your PC\, Protect Your Digital Identity\, and Protect Your Financial Identity (partnership with Woodforest National Bank).\nDistributed 207 FREE digital devices\, including laptops (81)\, tablets (68) and Chromebooks (58) via partnerships with the following amazing organizations: Inspiredu\, EveryoneOn\, Compudopt\, Culture Wireless\, and Waterford Upstart.\n\nWe will not host events or facilitate training in December 2023\, and plan to use the time\, developing our staff\, new courses and partnerships. We set the bar high in 2023\, and have our work cut out for us next year. We are looking forward to serving you in 2024! \n
