Georgia Technology Authority Listening Session & Inspiredu Adult Learning Workshop

March 8, 2023

The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) kicked off a statewide initiative to visit communities across the state to gain insight from residents and business owners about their personal experience with high-speed internet access. The Office of Digital Equity was excited to host a listening session on March 8, 2023 on behalf of the Clayton County community. GTA representatives provided attendees with an overview of broadband technology, broadband funding and programmatic opportunities, and steps to take action on connectivity in the Clayton County community. A special thank you to Joshua Hildebrandt and Oneisha Freeman from GTA for the presentation, to Commissioners Felicia Franklin and Demont Davis for supporting the event, to Warren Bond Photography for capturing the event, and to all of the Office of Digital Equity and Department of Information Technology staff that assisted in making the event a huge success.

Our digital skills and device distribution partner, Inspiredu, was also in attendance to provide free digital skills training and free refurbished laptops for 26 of our residents. Partnerships such as this will be invaluable in closing the digital divide in Clayton County, one household at a time. Thank you Inspiredu! We look forward to continuing to partner with you on future initiatives to support the Clayton County community.
